Degrees and Certifications:
I attended Kadoka Elementary and graduated from Kadoka High School. I graduated from Black Hills State University with a bachelor’s degree, double major in Applied Psychology & Human Services with a minor in Sociology. I worked for 21 years with Youth & Family Services as a Home Visitor for Rural Head Start. I provided preschool education to families in Jackson and Haakon Counties.
I began working for Kadoka Area School District in the Fall of 2013 teaching Elementary Guidance. I travel to all the schools in our district and teach lessons in all grades Kindergarten-8th in outlying schools and Junior Kindergarten-5th in Kadoka. In addition, I teach P.E. in Midland. The educational standards for Health and Counseling I follow include a wide variety of topics! In 2018 I obtained my alternative teaching certificate in K-12 Comprehensive School Health. I also meet with students one-on-one as well as some students in small groups. If you hear your child talking about Miss Kristie, that would be me! If you ever have any questions, concerns or want to share information about your child with me, just let me know.
My husband who also works at the school as the head Custodian. We have 3 children, one that attends school here in Kadoka, one that is a sophomore in college at SDSU, and one that is a senior in college at BHSU. I spend most of my free time supporting them in their many activities!
